At first Kaws was a pseudonym for Brian Donnelly, who became known in the graffiti scene in the 1990s. First he was limited to displaying Brands in his hometown of New Jersey, but then he wanted to go to New York, Tokyo and even to expand to Europe. In the 2010s, the big brands became aware of him and wanted to work with him and so the first statues came about. Today he still makes art and streetwear.
