Sneaker care! | How do I protect my sneakers from wind and weather

Of course, sneakers are not just just shoes, they are an investment and, above all, an expression of individual creativity. They give each of your outfits an expressive piece and should therefore be cared for as much as possible. Especially when it rains or snowing, your sneakers need the right protection to stay in the form that you want.

So today I present you a few things that you should definitely consider. There is also something for one or the other die -hard sneakerhead!

Protection against moisture and weather

One of the most important things you should actually do with every shoe is certainly the impregnation. You can treat the upper of the sneaker by applying an impregnation spray or wax so that it becomes water -repellent. It is best to make sure that it is a product especially for your type of leather or surface to avoid damage or residue. After selecting the spray, the sneaker sprays carefully and evenly and let it dry for a long time. Usually it is enough, I personally, but usually apply a second layer - just to make sure that I didn't miss a centimeter.

You should also make sure to renew the impregnation from time to time, especially in winter or autumn, if you are dealing with many weather.

Clean and dry

It has already happened to all of us: just leave and dry non -impregnated shoes after a exhausting day. Unfortunately, this can get damage to the sneaker that is easily no longer eradicated.

So if you get wet, I also have a few tips for you!

First try to remove the coarse dirt with a softer brush or with a cloth, then go to a mild cleaning agent or/and use lukewarm water to get the remains away. But with the cleaner, make sure not to lubricate it directly on the shoe, but dilute it with water - preferably in the sink or the like. After cleaning, of course, there is also one or the other to consider, for example you should not let the sneaker dry for heating heat and ideally also far from direct sunlight, in short simply in a cool, cheated space. With newspaper you can withdraw the moisture and the shape of the sneakers is preserved with a shoe tensioner.

Get a rotation to

A simple and effective trick is to have several sneakers for different occasions. If you work a lot, you should of course not necessarily wear very expensive shoes, but rather your beater. These are shoes that are not too expensive and usually do not offer a stable value. It is not without reason it is extra shoes for winter or summer, i.e. if you only have expensive sneakers, get 1 or 2 pairs where it is less problematic when they get dirty.

Conclusion

The right care and protection of your sneakers are the be -all and end -all to have them as long as possible in the best condition, as possible. With the tips mentioned above, you can be sure that your sneakers are protected against the weather and everyone else. Just think of regular cleaning and impregnating and giving them attention and love, as stupid as it sounds.
