The Belgian skateboarder Maite Steenhoudt is a fixed name in the scene and she was able to score in various skateboard competitions. She got Adidas sponsorship after releasing a viral video for the skateboard fire Elements.
Maybe Adidas finally wants to compete with Nike again because they keep expanding their SB Line and recruiting top skaters-Adidas is a bit behind.
After her Samba Adv project, she even gets her own signature sneaker, who looks totally wild! Stays on.
Structure and special features
The complete upper has been composed of various Violet tones made of suede. The thick rubber sole with tips triangles looks something like a mouth, pretty cool. With many layers, the Maite Steenhoudt X Adidas Adimatic Mid fits perfectly into the skate rail and does not use it as easily as other performance sneakers. Thick, white laces create a casual vibe and in connection with the three Adidas stripes that run on the side, they create a great overall picture. Small cross-stitching elements provide further details that fit perfectly on the sneaker. Adida's logos adorn the heel and the outer part. At the back of the sole we can see a small plastic button that moves in the direction of blue.
My favorite detail of the Maite Steenhoudt X Adidas Adimatic Mid is certainly the lower sole! Here was worked with a flash pattern that can certainly be seen well in the cool tricks.
How does the release work?
On September 23, the Maite Steenhoudt X Adidas Adimatic Mid via adidas.com will be sold. Retail price is € 120, which is really okay for such an elaborately designed sneaker.
My opinion on the sneaker
I am really not a skateboarder and the name Maite Steenhoudt was also completely new territory for me. There is also little about them on the Internet, since a lot of contacts and private competitions are clarified in the skateboard business. Nevertheless, I saw some skate clips from her and especially at the Olympic Games, she was able to convince me.
As cool as it is, your signature sneaker is unfortunately not quite mine. I like the design and the colors, but I really can't see the Maite Steenhoudt X Adidas Adimatic Mid on my foot! Still a cool concept.
