The story of the Air Ship
The Jordan Air Ship was revived in 2023 and pushed with some releases. Let's take a closer look at the story of the silhouette before we look at the colorway.
In 1984 the sneaker was designed by a very well -known designer, Bruce Kilgore, especially for Michael Jordan. The shoe is something like the further development of Air Force 1 and the predecessor of the Air Jordan 1 - a real piece of sneaker story!
What does the Colorway of Awake NY X Jordan Air Ship look like?
A lot has happened here! The upper was completely lined with white, very soft looking leather. A Nike Swoosh should of course not be missing, which was lined with a silver and embellished all around with red. Among the first two lace holes, an italic "A" for Awake NY has embroidered, a chic detail!
Something has also changed when you get started, a black and shiny Air Jordan Wing's logo was immortalized on a red reptile print. The reptile pattern fits perfectly with the design of the sneaker and for me is the coolest feature of the Awake NY X Jordan Air Ship. Probably the sneakers come with several pairs of laces, red have already been confirmed, but black and white would also fit well.
Finally, the rubber sole has been chosen in a vintage vibe that reflects the story behind the silhouette well. There is still a small sole in brown.
What is Awake NY?
Awake NY is a streetwear fire that is known for its strong designs and its connection to the New York fashion scene. The brand was founded by Angelo Baque, who was before a job as a creative director of Supreme, the streetwear brand par excellence and probably the best place to learn how everything works.
The collections are usually rather simple and are often decorated with different logos. The cuts are not too crazy either!
